so now, i shall talk about my 3 days working at the event.
OMGGGGGGGGGG, so many eye-candy, and mind you,
they have blue eyes! yaaaa, so many caucasians, i got so excited =)
and they are all so tall, taller than me, obviously!
some, were extremely funny and would just chat with me for awhile and
crack jokes.
but some, *coughs*asians*coughs*, pretty stuck up.
oh ya, and i saw this caucasian guy, who was bald but he is damn good looking,
and than there's a japanese guy who is DAMN tall, thats how i noticed him,
and very pretty too! some gave me their name cards, since it was a mainly for traders,
most of the men were in suits, DAMN MACHO!
but them most awesome part was when this caucasian guy, who was going to check out the
area as he would be having his booth in the next exhibition, he actually came up to me and asked if he could enter, which he could not since he doesnt have a pass. so anyways, the security guard(not the perverted one, if you're wondering), accompanied him.
when i was going for lunch, i bumped into him again as he was exiting, then he asked if i wanted to be one of the staffs during his exhibition, i was soooo eager.
but unfortunately, i would have already started school.
so the awesome part is that, i dont need to be able to speak mandarin to get a job if
the person hiring me is a caucasian. i mean, it's so easy for him to hire me, he just saw me working, no resumes required or interviews. yes, im being very sarcastic.
i still think that if i need to be able to speak mandarin, i wont ever get a job here. it is really unfair for people who cant speak mandarin, although they have better results *ahem, ahem*.
and i would also love to think that he actually offered me the job because i was nice to him
and very helpful and able to understand my fluent english when he asked for assistance.
and so, i dont see why we have to make it such an issue that one have to be able to speak mandarin just to get a job. and these people are put in the service line to serve the chinese speaking ones, but those who do not speak chinese gets someone who cant even pronounce their Rs and Ls properly. dont they always say "able to speak english and mandarin", what happen to the english part? if their english is going to be so incomprehensible, i could also claim to be able to speak chinese. after all those years watching chinese tv-shows, im sure i can speak mandarin as good as those people speaking english mispronouncing their Rs and Ls.
and you know what, till now, this
recruitment agency has NEVER called me once, to go for
an interview, which also means they NEVER submitted my resume to ANY employers, that's how efficient (or bias) they are.
initially, i thought maybe it wasnt only me, but what do you know,
i asked my other colleagues if they faces the same issue, but no, they complained the opposite,
they said this
recruitment agency could not stop calling them, and was verging on annoyance.
hmm, i mean, i've applied through them 3 times on 3 different occasions, once during my verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long post 'O'level holidays 2 seperate polytechnic vaccations. but noooo,
i didnt even get any. not once. not a single phonecall.
but JL who applied at the same time as me, in fact we went together, got a job, both times she and i applied. although there were some delays for her, EVENTUALLY she did get an assignment. there was once she rejected the assignment, they NEVER even called me. that's how inefficient (or bias) they are. my resume was probably piled below some used loo paper.
but, it's alright now, cause i got a job which is much better off.
p.s: what a surprise, for this job i was like 1 of the 3 malays out of 50 staffs.
i dont see why there werent more malays since i didnt even need to be able to speak mandarin to carry out my job efficiently.
